Lucy Modra, MD, MPH, an intensivist at Austin Health and a senior clinical fellow in the Department of Critical Care at the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia, wanted to know why less than one in four critical care physicians in Australia and New Zealand are women and what could be done to change it. In 2015, she cofounded the Women in Intensive Care Network to promote gender equity in intensive care medicine in Australia and New Zealand. While conducting the network’s advocacy work, Dr. Modra began to learn more about implicit bias.
Critical Connections, the critical care industry's only magazine, provides information on cutting-edge topics in critical care useful to the entire multiprofessional team."
