The 2021 Critical Care Congress is the first ever virtual event due to the pandemic. The need to transition to a virtual platform was identified in early summer, and surveys were conducted to determine how the virtual congress should be conducted. The key results showed that the congress should last two weeks, with fewer sessions but more continuing education opportunities. The congress includes master classes, plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, lay-breaking science, bonus CE and CME sessions, interactive sessions, roundtable discussions, member-to-member sessions, abstract presentations, and fun activities. The virtual exhibit hall features the latest medical technology and industry resources. The organizers hope that attendees will find the congress to be a valuable learning opportunity.
