A review of how the intensive care unit (ICU) fits into the overall hospital management plan. This chapter from Fundamental Critical Care Support: Crisis Management reviews hazards specific to the critical care unit which need to be considered for optimal disaster planning. ICU disaster preparation should include the participation of all stakeholders.
