Adult Multidisciplinary Critical Care Knowledge Assessment Program 2024
Overview
Multidisciplinary Critical Care Knowledge Assessment Program (MCCKAP), Adult

The 2024 Adult Multidisciplinary Critical Care Knowledge Assessment Program (MCCKAP) online examination is intended for program directors to assess their critical care fellowship programs; additionally, it can be used by individuals to independently assess their critical care knowledge gained during fellowship training.

The MCCKAP examination is offered online and consists of 200 multiple-choice questions pertaining to critical care knowledge and patient management. Examination content is developed by critical care professionals experienced in examination preparation and analysis.

The annual MCCKAP examination helps program directors and individual fellows:
  • Assess critical care knowledge gained during fellowship training
  • Prepare fellows for the subspecialty board examinations in critical care Identify specific areas of strength and weakness with lists of references and key terms for missed questions
  • Assess results for each individual fellow and the overall program, as well as the institution’s percentile ranking (program director version only)
  • Immediate preliminary scores and analysis are available upon completion of the test.
  • Final results will be available approximately 5 to 7 weeks after the examination closes.
Examination Dates: April 2 to 9, 2024
General Information
Fellows have 4 hours to complete the entire 200-item examination, including an optional break time of up to 60 minutes (5 hours total). To take a break, click the "Take a Break" button located in the upper right-hand corner of the examination screen. This will suspend the examination timer and begin the break timer. Every student will have an hour of break time to either use or not in as many breaks as desired; it is up to the discretion of the proctor to determine how many breaks are appropriate. The amount of break time used will not affect the overall examination time remaining.

Fellows must submit their examination before they can view the preliminary results. On examination completion, a detailed examination summary is available for fellows to either view or download by clicking the "Examination summary report" button on the main examination page. This will open a page that displays the raw overall score, including raw score breakdowns by category, and the raw overall peer average for the examination.

Fellows can also view references for questions that were answered incorrectly in each section. This report can be downloaded as a pdf and sent to the program director.

All results should be considered preliminary until the final score reports are made available through the test administration page within 5 to 7 weeks after the examination.
